Monty Curry, Executive Director
Monty Curry serves as Senior Vice President and Regional Trust Manager for Northeastern Oklahoma. He started his career in the financial services industry with Coopers & Lybrand in Dallas, Texas, an international public accounting firm. In 1985, he joined the trust division of a Texas bank and served in a variety of positions including those in operations, administration, and management.
Monty joined BancFirst in 2001 and currently manages the Tulsa, Oklahoma, office which services Tulsa and the surrounding areas. With over 30 years experience, he has an extensive knowledge in estate and financial planning as well as probate and trust administration.
He holds a BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M University and is also an alumnus of the National Graduate Trust School of Northwestern University in Chicago. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Trust and Financial Advisor, and a graduate of Leadership Tulsa. He has served on numerous boards including the Wilson N. Jones Hospital Foundation Board, Tulsa Estate Planning Forum (past President), Emergency Infant Services, Metro Christian Academy (past Treasurer), and Transitional Living Centers of Oklahoma (past President).
Monty and his wife, Kathy, live in Tulsa and have three children, Krista Singleton, Kelsey Curry, and Matt Curry.
Dr. Katherine Curry, Director
Katherine A. Curry is an assistant professor in the Graduate College of Education at Oklahoma State University. She currently teaches classes in School Administration in the Educational Leadership Program. Formerly, she has experience as a director of curriculum and instruction, middle school principal, headmaster, and high school English teacher. Kathy is married to Monty Curry, and they have three grown children. She also currently serves as the Director of Women's Ministries and Young Married LifeGroup leader at Southern Hills Baptist Church in Tulsa, OK.
Mr. Steve Watkins, Chair and Secretary
Steve Watkins is the Executive Pastor of Southern Hills Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Prior to joining the team at Southern Hills, Steve directed several districts in sales management for Gap Inc.; an international retail apparel company. His 35 year management career has allowed him to bring a unique perspective and style to the team and ministry at Southern Hills. Steve loves teaching and the outdoors – especially hiking, camping, and fishing. He and his wife, Jamie live in Tulsa and have two amazing children; Sara, and Will.
Dr. Ed Harris, Director and Treasurer
Dr. Ed Harris is Professor and Williams Chair of Educational Leadership at Oklahoma State University. Ed received his MA in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary and his Ph.D. from Texas A & M University. During his twenty years at OSU, he has served as Associate Dean of Administrative Affairs; Director of Research, Extension, Technology and International Programs, and Coordinator of EDLE Domestic and International Cohorts, including the lead administrator for the Belize Cohort. Ed is currently Chief Executive of the Brock International Prize in Education, the largest prize awarded to educators who make a difference in the world. His primary research interests focus on cultural values and occupational ethos, and how faith-based groups can engage modern culture.
